Helen started her professional education experience at a young age. During high school, she achieved full scores on the IELTS and TOEFL exams and began teaching English training courses while helping the Xiamen Daily, a local newspaper, establish their bilingual weekly English publication, Common Talk. After high school, she established a successful translation service, becoming a millionaire at the tender age of 18. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she enrolled in an MBA program in the United States after receiving several full scholarship offers from different graduate business schools.

After graduation, Helen established schools in both the Philippines and China while working for the British Council as an IELTS Examiner. At the age of 27, she became their youngest and only Chinese Examiner Trainer and was an official IELTS training representative in China, conducting workshops and training seminars throughout southeast Asia. Helen is a co-founder and Chief Educational Officer for IELSA, supervising IELSA’s academic affairs.

Under her direction, IELSA has grown from one IELTS training center in Xiamen to several locations offering not only IELTS test preparation, but also additional preparation for SAT, ACT, TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT. She is also an authority on the scholarship application process, helping students apply for scholarship to the world’s top universities and has been certified as an educational assessment authority by the University of Cambridge.

Helen has been recognized by the Xiamen City government for the “Leading Entrepreneurial Talents” of the Xiamen “ Double Hundred Talents Plan” and as a “Taiwan Distinguished Expert”. Recently she was selected as a recipient of the “2016 Role Model for Chinese Entrepreneurship” sponsored by CCTV and ten National ministries including the Ministry of Education and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)

Tim has over twenty years of test preparation experience, having served as an SAT and ACT test supervisor; an Advanced Placement (AP) coordinator; and aSSAT, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL test proctor.

Tim has worked as an overseas education advisor in five international schools and is very experienced with the educational systems in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.With this professional background,

Tim has mentored hundreds of students for admittance to the world’s top high schools and universities.He is highly qualified in helping English language learners develop English literacy skills, and has helped IELSA develop curricula and resource materials in all areas of IELSA’s test preparation and academic success courses.

Tom is an experienced overseas application authority with professional test preparation experience.He has been involved in professional English instruction in mainland China since 2007 and has helped English training organizations establish stable expansion and development programs. He has directed recruiting, training, and career development services for teachers and education managers while supporting national organizations with their strategic planning and implementation.

As a Columbia University visiting scholar with an MBA from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree of the University of Pennsylvania with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, he hashelped many students obtain high marks on both the TOEFL (110 and higher) and IELTS (8 and higher) testsand gain admission to many top universities around the world.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as, a Master’s of Education degree.She is a professional educator who has taught at all levels including elementary, secondary, and university courses for the past thirty years.

Nancy is a certified reading and language arts specialist and has worked in international schools around the world including Bangladesh, Bolivia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia and China.She has a strong background in test preparation and has worked as a tutor for IELTS, TOEFL, and the SAT.Nancy has been working with IELSA in Xiamen for the past two years developing curricula, providing in-service training and conducting mock IELTS speaking exams.

Sandra holds multiple degrees from the United Kingdom anda PhD. in literary studies from the University of Macao and is a published author of numerous scholarly works and teaching curricula.

Sandra has intercultural teaching experience in Algeria, Bahrain, Bulgaria, China, Macau, Tunisia and Zimbabwe. Her knowledge and understanding of English languageeducation has helped IELSA develop its innovative and unique style of learning English.

She has worked cooperatively with numerous IELSA instructional staff to develop quality teaching materials and textbooks for IELSA’s educational program.
